I realize that I haven’t supplied Cecilia’s rabid fans with any new material lately. Sorry about that! I’m just going to leave this video here for now, and you can watch it on a loop until I get myself to fill in the last month and a half (has it really been that long? Oh boy.) of life. Last week, Cecilia rolled onto her back three times. I think it was mostly an accident of how I set her down – she had her elbows under her already, so she didn’t have to work as hard. She hasn’t done it since, and I sure didn’t capture it on video. Actually, I didn’t see any of the rolls myself, only the confusion of a baby who didn’t know how she was suddenly facing up instead of down.
I did take several videos of her during tummy time though, in hopes that she might roll again. You can see that she’s giving it her best effort, but she hasn’t quite figured out how it happened in the first place.
My tiny, clingy, sleepy newborn is none of those things now.
Dressed up for Mass last weekend
So what else has the cutest Dolinar been up to? Well, she’s getting used to the chillier weather…
No, it hasn’t actually been snowing. We did get a nice frost though.
It’s hard to believe, but the calendar does not lie. Our little Cecilia is two months old!
And she is very proud!
All’s well here in the Dolinar household. Grandad came for his visit and it was great.
…angels sang, honey came down like the dewfall, there was peace in all nations, hunger was no more, everywhere there was joy and harmony…
1 – excuses
I don’t have many pictures of Cecilia this week – oops. Truth is, Brian’s back at work and I’ve been adjusting to full-time on-my-own baby care. Fun, but I’m tired! And haven’t been thinking of the camera often. Enter 7 quick takes – a nice Friday motivation to remind me to update everyone (okay, the grandparents and Johanna mostly) on Cecilia and life in Madison. The loose theme: fall!
Before I start, can I just say… go Irish!
Watching the clip of sleeping Cecilia again, I realize how much the camera angle exaggerates the fat on her arm. She’s not quite that chubby, though it does make me feel confident that she’s getting enough milk from me.
I don’t think there’s anything better than looking down and seeing your sleeping baby in your arms.
Note the twitching lip – she’s dreaming about nursing. She may look just like Brian’s baby pictures, but she’s got my love of food!
